Early Childhood Program

All children are born with the ability to make music.  In order to reach their full potential, children must be immersed in a rich musical environment.  Early childhood music classes at the Ridgefield Suzuki School offer children and parents the opportunity to play, have fun and make music together, thus establishing a solid musical foundation.

If your child is younger than 5, we strongly recommend that you enroll your child in an Early Childhood class prior to starting formal music lessons.

Here at the Ridgefield Suzuki School we offer two classes to introduce your child to the world of music.

Music together

An informal form of music instruction where children and parents are immersed in music for 45 minutes in a play-based setting. All children are born with the innate ability to create music. Help build your child's musical competency by making music with them at an early age.

We recommend this class for children ages birth to five years old.

Meet the Instruments

Designed to be a bridge from informal, play-based music instruction to the more formal instruction of private lessons, this class incorporates lots of singing, movement, and musical play while also introducing students and parents to the more structured environment of formal music instruction. Over the course of the semester, students will be introduced to the violin, viola, cello and piano allowing the parent and child to ultimately choose which instrument to study.

We recommend this class for children 3.5 to 6 years of age.
