The Ridgefield Suzuki School offers violin, viola, cello piano lessons and group classes in the Suzuki Method as well as early childhood music classes. We strive to provide a nurturing environment where students develop lifelong learning skills, musical excellence and a profound love of music!
The Suzuki Method
The Suzuki Method was developed by Japanese violinist, Shinichi Suzuki (1898-1998) and has been taught in the United States for over 50 years. The philosophy is based on the following core principals: Every Child Can, Mother-Tongue Approach, Parental involvement and Community
What We Offer
Here at the Ridgefield Suzuki School we offer private lessons for violin, viola, cello and piano, for students 3.5 and up. We also offer two early childhood music classes, Music together which is designed for ages birth- six years old and our Meet the instruments class designed for children ages 3.5-6. Free Intro to Suzuki Cello
Is your child interesting in learning the cello? Have they decided to sign up to play cello in school orchestra next year? Are you looking to give them a head start on learning the cello? Sign up now for our Free Intro to Suzuki cello class! This class is taught by our wonderful Cello instructor Hannah Gebhard!
In This Class your child will learn all about the cello. You will hear a professional cellist play, learn all about how the cello works, and get to learn the basics of how to hold and play the cello. The class will be taught in the hands-on, child-centered, developmentally appropriate manner typical of the Suzuki Method, using listening, singing and games. Parents will learn about the unique approach of the Suzuki Method. At the end of the class, children will be poised for a wonderful start in the Suzuki Cello program at our school, if they wish to continue. Cellos will be provided!
